Toile & Cork

Toile 2 & Cork – Took a day annual leave to spend some time in the fashion studio to produce a second toile to perfect the pattern after altering the foam to add some more volume to match the 3D print. Diving straight into the process we cut the cork. Stitching was completed by a fantastic studio technician because my stitching skills are still work in progress. End result was a cracking first effort. I quite like it. However, after wrestling the cork onto the foam and gluing it to the base it has become evident that the cork fabric used is fragile.

Next step is to have another go with a different textile. Spotted an surplus Dutch Army sand tarp on the internet that had a tasty colour similar to the cork. Might snap that up in the name of second life and give that a go.
