Looking for a while at aesthetics. A trend of custom builds that I feel pulled towards is the filled in wheel as can be seen in the rides pictured by Le French Atelier. As I have a hub motor I keep thinking of ways to hide the main drive unit. Not sure why but I personally don’t like complexity. The architecture of the e-bike lends itself towards a minimal aesthetic so why not. Looks like hubs could be made with a spin former probably easier than a press. However if a perforated look is required the a spinning maybe slightly harder and maybe a two part mould might be appropriate. failing that a coned shape might work well with patterned from a single sheet and pulled together with a welded seam. Not sure. all good thoughts.
