Have made some mods to the current swingarm frame to accommodate the suspension strut in the new position. There are some interesting swingarm designs around, seen in the photos. The modified xj600 swingarm borrows elements from them to ensure reliability.
Mods have been made to the current XJ600 swingarm because fabrication of the wider arm has been put on the back burner as I decide if the 14kw motor is really necessary for the purpose of the project. An 8000w motor (Max Power: 11250W / Peak 16000W) is currently considered. The 8000w motor will achieve a speeds up to 120km/h which is more than enough on UK roads. If I upgrade then the wider swing arm can be fabricated and the new static mounting point under the seat will still be of use. With this mod complete I will remove the bottom cross bar that supports the current strut and replace it completely instead of strengthening it with a steel plate.
Can I just say what a relief to uncover somebody that actually
knows what they are talking about on the net. You
certainly know how to bring an issue to light and make it important.
A lot more people need to read this and understand
this side of your story. It’s surprising you’re not more popular given that you definitely have the gift.
