New oil & dust seals have arrived for the forks so time to open them up and see what is inside. Holy crap… the oil lock was jammed into the top of the damper rod instead of the bottom, the stop clips were crammed down the side of an oil seal, and strangely found 18mm sockets in top of the springs. Jesus! Never know what you’ll find on someone else forks eh. No wonder they were spitting out oil. Someone had a jolly old time with these XJ600 forks. No matter, Just need to get new stop clips and then they can be reconstructed as the rest of the components seem to have some life in them. Will paint the fork tubes while I wait for em.
